This truly unique short break discovers the shepherding secrets of the lowlands and uplands of the Northumberland landscape as the route follows relatively unused paths and rights of way winding their way through the very heart of the stunning Coquet and Breamish valleys. The area is rich in wildlife, history, ancient settlements and is home to many myths and legends. You will be based in Rothbury for the duration of the holiday and accompanied throughout by Russell Tait who has developed this trail drawing on his vast knowledge and experience as a Countryside Ranger and former shepherd. Rothbury is a lovely village located to the North of Newcastle in Northumberland and only a few miles from the Scottish Border, sitting alongside the river Coquet. There is an array of quality eating establishments, quirky gifts shops and clothing stores for you to browse and enjoy during your stay.
